Default Broken muffler on 2PG

Hi, I'm new to this site and have a question. I just got a 1985 EZGO with a Robins two stroke, my question is the inlet into the muffler is broken and the muffler is all rusted so I need a new one. My inlet goes into the top of the muffler and all the ones I'm finding for these years go in through the side is this a new design or am I just not finding the right one? Thanks for your help in advance.

they changed the muffler design when they did away with the 2PG motor and went to the 3PG (both 2-strokes) however I believe that was in mid-88 (I have an 88 with the inlet on top also, and yes, it's difficult to find them, even a search for a 1988 muffler generally gave me the side-inlet design, too) ... Keep looking, they're out there

This is the style I have - does it look familiar?

They have almost all of the available 2-stroke mufflers, possibly you could snap a pic and email them, their tech support is pretty decent at helping out

If it's not broken completely, you could always try muffler tape or muffler putty.

If you think your muffler is rusty now, try BBQing it!

It's not rusted out or anything but the insides are
Loose so I don't think it's worth repairing. Where we
Use it it needs to be somewhat quiet.

Sorry but I may also note my muffler is loose on the inside and also has been repair welded and isn't to loud so if you can live with it I would have it repaired. I own a welding shop and would think you should be able to have it repaired for about $20.00 if you can live with that.

That's what I was thinking of doing, it's easy enough to just weld. I was just worried about the backpressure and noise with the insides being loose.
