Default Timing 92 ez go gxi-804

When I got the motor it was torn apart the guy i got it from said it smoked But the cylinder walls look good some one told me to put the head back on and check the compression need to know how to set the timing when I put it back together

welcome to BGW. is your motor a 2 or 4 cycle one? if it is the2 cycle 3pg., right in the middle should do it. as long as the flywheel is off and hopefully the clutch, you should take the opportunity to change out the crank seals. they are very inexpensive. also, if the bore is in good shape , you can deglaze it and put in a new piston and rings. again, not too much money. good luck

It has a cap on the valve cover that looks like where you would put oil in but it has some oil in the block but it smells like mix oil-gas

the 4 strokes have two plug wires, the 2 stroke has one.

Also, is there a resivoir for oil? 2 stroke
Is there a dipstick to check the oil in the motor? 4 cycle

Must be a 4 stroke there are two spark plugs the block says (eh29c) what is the timing on the 4 stroke

There isn't just put it back togther with the key way for the fan side and your done. On the other hand are you talking about the cam to crank timming? Thats another ball game, but easily walked through...
