Default steering wheel removal

How do I remove the stock steering wheel from my ezgo? When driving straight the steering wheel is turned a little to the right. I took the scorecard keeper off and the nut that is uner there and a small screw from the steering column but it wouldn't budge.

I used a gear puller with exta long jaws - it was tricky and involved a lot of swearing (as well as significant fear of breakage which thank God didn't happen) but it did eventually slide off

Thanks, that is what I thought but my wife was outside with me and she didn't like the idea of a hammer.

At least ya know that you're not missing any hidden bolts and it's just stuck good. If ya break it look at as an opportunity to put a purty billet one on there. Good luck, I know if it was me I'd get it off or break it trying. With my mechanical ability it would probably be the latter.

i know it's late, but if you haven't done anything with it yet, you can adjust the steering wheel by adjusting your tierods (i think you were inquiring about drifting, and would need to adjust your tierods, anyway).

for example, if you adjust one tierod to the left 6 turns, then adjust the other tierod in the same direction, it would adjust what position your steering wheel is in.

If you have 4-bolt steering, a much easier way than removing the wheel is by removing the intermediate shaft at the other end of the column- 1 bolt to remove, pop shaft off, make your adjustment in the wheel, and pop it back on, reinstall bolt.

I'm sure you finished this project by now, but if not, You need a puller! Is there a Harbor Freight near by? Should have seen me trying to get one off my boat....that's been in saltwater for 9 years!

Untighten the bolt?? WTF? Do they still offer shop class in high school....they should!
