1992 EZ GO gas golf cart

Hey all..

Sure glad I found this forum...it's been some good help reading the other threads/posts.

I just purchased a 1992 EZ GO gas golf cart for my Dad to use on my ranch to get around. It ran when I picked it up (private sale) although it had sat for a while and was a little "rough". I got it home and it started just fine, I took it off the trailer and drove it over to my neighbors house (10 acres away), parked it...when in to get them to show them the new "Ranch Limo" and when I came back out, it would not run. I would push down the pedal and it would idle off the starter and generator, put would not start the engine or engage the clutch.

I have put in a new spark plug, new air filter, gas filters, etc...I have spark, I have fuel, I have compression....Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....why won't it "rev up" and run?!?!?

Frustrated!!!

I recently had a similar problem with my cart... turned out to be a loose wire on the fuel shut off solenoid. So even though I had gas to the carb, it wasn't getting to the cylinder. Will it run if you spraying starting fluid into the air filter?

Common sense says if you have fuel, air, and spark it should run but thats not always the case....You know its getting air....if the plug is wet you know its getting fuel....so that leaves out the spark. A couple of possible things here with the spark....weak ignition module or a weak coil. The compression could be real low too.
