New to forum...no luck with search.
I just purchased a 1991 EZ Go cart that was stretched to a six seater. I will confess that my knowledge of golf carts is limited to the carts I ride at the course.
Thba said....this is what I am looking to do.... 5" lift Wheels & tires to match the lift I need a roof and frame It is the 9HP motor. Anything that I can add to the motor for more power? i am on another car forum and we take some cheap shots at these types of questions so I understand if they are old news. Just please point me int he right direction. thanks in advance! Michael |

Re: New to forum...no luck with search.
Welcome to BGW !!!
:-First off, Forget the other forum, u won't need it anymore....but yes, cheap shots happen here too. ALL in good fun Though! If you have a stretched cart, then chances are it has been modified. This can make finding a roof to fit a challenge. Will an 80 inch top cover what u need to cover? 5" lift? 6 is common and probably cheaper? That's alot of cart to push around with 9 hp. There are power mods available. But IMHO, the minimal gains they offer are not worth the money. I 'm sure someone will argue. But u will have to totally rebuild the 9 hp to get more hp and longevity out of it, so why not bite the bullet and big block it? Hope this helps and again WELCOME. |

Thanks for the quick reply! As for the other forum, it is for another hobby, not carts.
I have looked around and found an 88" roof that should work. It is the frame pieces that I am stumped with. I can't find them anywhere. Any suggestions? |

Having never done a stretch...I don't know what you need exactly. I would look for used roof supports at a cart repair shop or dealer. That's where I find stock take-offs. Good luck

Welcome moveqik! You could switch your engine to the 350cc model. It's a direct bolt in. You can google several rebuilders that will exchange yours for the bigger model.

Re: New to forum...no luck with search.
I"ll check around for the top brackets.
As for the 350cc engine, a quick search landed me on a $850 unit. Is that what I should expect to pay?? Sounds spendy for a golf cart engine. But then again, what do I know....this is my first cart. |

I am personally quite happy with the results There are better and more expensive "A-Arm" kits. They will give you more travel vis a vis the spindle lift kit, but are 3x as expensive. It all depends on your budget and your application.. |
