Rough at low speeds

Cart would not run at all unless choke was pulled all the way out. Replaced carb, gas lines, filter, plus tinkered with the carb a little bit. It now runs good at med to high speed. Very rough at low speeds. It tries to shut down at low speeds.Don't know where to start trouble shooting Don't want to make matter worse by adjusting the wrong thing. We use this cart for puttering around the neighbor and beyond so we really need the slow speed. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I don't know much and I know I don't no much.

Played a little with it tonight. If I hold the accelerator down a little, it will rev up, then down, then up, then down. It still seems to run fairly well at higher speeds. I tried adjusting the linkage but couldn't tell much difference. Someone told me that aftermarket carbs don't allow for much adjustment, but you would think they would be within operating range. I'm open to all suggestions and will try just about anything. As I said before, we just use it to putter around the neighborhood, so what we really need is a nice smooth ride, although I do like winding her out on occasion

Hi guys. I think I have found the problem, or at least part of the problem. Where the accelerator cable comes out under the pedal, it's rubbed on the frame and completely broken through the outer casing. The cable itself is pretty rusty and hardly moves. Went to 2 different sites to order one. Both sites have the same OEM# (72065-GO1) but one gives the length as 29 inches and the other one gives the length as 36 5/8 inches. I guess the only way to find out is take the bad one out. I've got other more pressing projects going on right now I don't always have time for this one. Oh well, that's life.

Still having problems. After installing new gas cable, it's all or nothing. As soon as accelerator switch makes it's wide open. Can't get it to idle down. I've tried adjusting cables, governor, carb linkage. Nothing seems to change. Any help would really, really, really be appreciated.

Try loosening the cable. In the throttle I believe there is a micro switch that activates the electric starter. If the cable is too tight, the engine will already be at WOT when the micro switch is activated, turning the throttle into an on/off switch. Look at the cable/engine connection and see if the throttle is partially open.

OK, that's not it. I have the lid off the control box so I can see what's going on with the micro switch. There is about 3/16ths of an inch in the end of the cable that it has to travel before it starts doing anything. In my puttering around I took the cable off on the engine side. Same thing. As soon as the switch made, everything was wide open, so the cable really wasn't causing the problem. Played around with the carb linkage again with no luck.
Any more ideas will be more than welcome!

It's got to be a problem with the throttle in the engine itself somewhere. Check all the components of the throttle, there's got to be something wrong in there.
