NewB Need Help
I need help! I want to buy from the closest dealer to where the cart will be located/stored. He seems like an honest person. He has a 2001 EZ GO gas that he is going to rebuild the blown engine. It's not lifted and will come with the rear flip-flop seat and lights. It will be cleaned up with a 1 year warranty. He wants $3,200.00 for it. He also has a gas 2010 EZ GO that only has 2 months of use (golf course located in NY - changed to electric). He is asking $5,200.00 for the 2010 cart with a 1 year warranty. I need advice on which one should I buy and how much should I pay?? Thanks in advance for your help in assisting me on deciding what to do!!

Re: NewB Need Help
I gave 5600.00 for my 2011 ezgo st sport with everything you see.....i added better wheels and tires....but this is how it came. My Club Car, also a gas and it was a 2006 and I gave 3600.00 for it. It was really nice, all the options including stereo, rear seat....all of it. Now, where you are the market may be a little different. Here, they sell huge numbers so they can make better deals to keep pumping them out. You may do well to buy a cart here. You could save $$$$

Re: NewB Need Help
I agree that both of those prices are pretty stiff, especially in our area (Wisconsin) - I personally have an older EZGO that I rebuilt and customized myself, but I am always stopping by different cart dealers, etc to keep an eye on the market, get new ideas, etc and see a lot of early 200's EZGO carts in the $2k range ($1800-2200) , most of them built to the hilt, so to speak ...
I would personally do a little browsing on Craigslist, etc or even better a simple geographical Ebay search within a reasonable distance (say 100-150 miles, an easy afternoons turnaround) and see what you find, use that as a little better indicator of the market in your area (keep in mind that right now on Craigslist everyone seems to be shooting high with their asking prices but to be safe you can take around 20% off of the asking price to get a more realistic number) |

Re: NewB Need Help
Prices do seem a bit stiff to me too.
Mind you, as soon as golf season opens, it seems all the carts double in price (except for the sparkies around here anyways). BCM hit it on the head - I'd also recommend checking every day to see if new low-dollar listings pop up, or even posting a WTB ad with what you want and what you are willing to pay. The key here Grasshopper, is patience..... |
