What is This Wire for
What is this wire for? It is not connected to any thing right now. But then again many wires were not connected properly or not at all. But I don't see this one on the wiring diagram.

Re: What is This Wire for
I think that the other end is heading for the oil pressure sender to it was probably for an oil warning lamp, but I could be wrong.

Re: What is This Wire for
Dave is correct. That wire is for the oil level sensor. Not all carts came w/ the oil light as a standard.

Re: What is This Wire for
So I could put a nice little LED in the dash for that oil warning. Is it variable or an on/off?
Thank you both Mark |

Re: What is This Wire for
Do I put +12v to the warning LED and then send the -12v from the LED to the oil sender? Do I use the oil level sensor to ground the LED?

Re: What is This Wire for
shouldn't be voltage only ground. Think of it as a switch open when no oil pressure and closed with oil pressure which then supplies the ground to your light. hope this helps.

Re: What is This Wire for
I understand that the switch goes to ground when pressure is low. But if you put a volt meter to wire when there is pressure. What would my meter read? I'm betting 12v. Am I correct?
These golf cart are new to me. The no starter on the switch. And the give it gas and it starts up. This is throwing me for a loop. How do you warm the engine up? Would it be hard on the belt and clutch if I by passed the kill switch on the gas peddle? Mark |

Re: What is This Wire for
Use your volt meter in the ohms position 1 lead to ground and 1 lead to your wire. Not running will show continuity and with it running and oil pressure it will show open. Switch is now open to ground. In short 12v to 1 light pigtail and 1 light pigtail would go to your wire not running light should be on after you start it should go off. Try that.
