I got my cart going. And I got all the lights on with a turn signal switch. But with the LED lights I need to "load" the flashing relay a bit. Any suggestions?

Also, when I got this cart all the safety switches were by passed. I got everything back to the original wiring diagrams. But when I start it up, it starts a little too fast. So I take my foot off the pedal a bit. It then shuts down. A little more gas. Too fast so I back off a bit. I don't think it is the Governor. At a flat out run it hits MPH.

Is the switch on the throttle need to be tuned a bit? How do I get this cart running correct?

Look on ebay for "led resistor". I had to do this for my led turn signals.

I can't help on the throttle problem, but the relay problem is a common one with an easy fix. If you don't want to solder in the previously mentioned resistor, get a solid state turn signal flasher. It's specifically made for running LED lights on vehicles.

The accel thing could be one of (or both) of 2 issues, number one your throttle cable could be set too tight so that the carb is opening before the accel microswitch is firing the ignition (meaning you're actually "starting" at 20% or more throttle) - make sure that the carb isn't opening until you hear or feel the click of the microswitch on your pedal (you want the switch to click BEFORE the carb starts to open) - number two could be the switch itself has worked loose or become misadjusted, same deal as above, you just need to mess with the two until the switch is clicking and engaging the solenoid BEFORE the carb opens (might take a few minutes and test runs to tweak but that's a relatively common issue)

6 ohm 50 watt that sort of defeats the porpouse of using LEDs. I guess I'll get the "electronic" relay.

With the idle screw all the way down, or all the way up. It makes no difference. It's still getting gas from some where else if the idle screw makes no difference.

The throttle switch screw is backed all the way out. It closes with just a little push on the peddle. And I still get whip lash :)

Personally, I've used a solid state turn signal flasher on my '03 Honda Shadow Spirit 750 for years and haven't had a problem with it yet. I bought mine off of eBay, but you can get them from motorcycle shops and well equipped auto parts stores too.

I haven't checked the site sponsors, but one of them might carry them too since LED lights are a common upgrade.

I've used the saying on quite a few forums myself. It actually comes from my BBS days when I ran one called The InSaNe Asylum. I heard it somewhere and it fit.

I have used NightTripper as a forum nym for many many years. Comes from the late 60's when a Buddie and I used to listen to KAAY out of Little Rock. At 11:00PM they would switch over to "underground" music. Clyde Clifford is still DJing at a different station. A blues signer Dr. John The NightTripper was one of my favorites. And he is still making the rounds. So my Buddie Dave used Dr. John and I use NightTripper as a CB handle. Been using NightTripper every since. And yes, I still get the "That's a doper's name"

Found the problem, my brother in law ;) The throttle cable sweeps up from the micro switch and at the top of the "thingie" the cable pulls back a good sized spring. Where the cable comes up and mounts. The cable was mounted clear to the end of the screw. You could see a "clean" spot on the cable adjustment screw. I put it back on the clean spot and it starts up sooo much better. But what did I do to the top end speed? It was 16 MPH. I used my GPS out of my car to see the top end.

well my friend, NOW that your throttle is working fine, it appears that so now is your governor (which may explain the misadjustment as an attempt to bypass) - I am personally not an expert at the 4-stroke governors but if you do a fast search for "governor removal" or "governor adjustment" here on the forum and find the thread specific to your cart, you should be in business!)

The other shot, make sure that with the new stop position, your carb is actually opening all the way (unhook the cable and see where the carb travel stops, then make sure the new spot you have your cable stop allows it to go that far) - could be another reason someone had it adjusted that far out ... There may be a sweeter spot for the cable stop that will allow it to completely close (which it sounds like the old position did NOT) as well as open all the way - once you hit that spot, then you're ready to adjust the governor
