Default 2011 St Sport 2+2 Stereo Options

I will be getting my new cart next week sometime. I was just wondering what would be the best option for a stereo. Should i go with marine grade speakers and cd player? Its going to be stored outside under a heavy duty cover. Also is the overhead option better than putting the cd in dash? Any help would be appreciated.

i went with a kenwood marine radio in the dash. i dont care much for the overhead stuff. i did make one for my last setup, but it makes the top wiggle way to much and the sound from those premade over heads is kinda lousy. that is also my personal opinion plus its the samething everyone else has. personally i have really enjoyed mine being in the dash now. plus i dont hit my head on it everytime i hit a bump with the cart

Are you actually going to the the radio portion, or are you just going to plug in your mp3 player. I purchased a JBL marine amp and 2 kicker marine 6" speakers and skipped the radio all together. I put an AUX jack in the dash which connects to the rca inputs of the amp. I simply hook up my mp3 player to the aux jack, just like the car.

I have since added a non marine amp and 10" sub to the rear club area. I have to remove those every time I wash the cart. I don't worry about the marine stuff, so I say go marine.

I vote for marine reciever in the dash with at least 2 6 1/2 marine speakers. The mp3 only deals are ok, but I still like radio for ball games, pre game tailgating, weather, etc...

i agree with the dash... i had my last cart mounted overhead and the roof shook WAY too much... i have the head unit in dash now w/ the marine cover...w/ 4 6.5 Bazooka marine speakers and it sounds good.. i'm thinking of adding amp/sub.. just not sure if i want to spend the money to go marine in that area...

I went dirt cheap also, Its a Walmart boss, non-marine, am/fm/usb/sd/aux.200W/50W per channel in dash. No cd player, they wouldnt work good in the terrain i ride. Works great and cost 50.00. If it goes out..throw it and get another. Great sound and reception.

Toss a $49 Boss or Soundstorm amp in the front cowl and forget about it, as long as you are not driving in water or hosing the crap out of it it should be cool.

Of course you can't push 2 12" JL's with that! I'd love to see it when you get it figured out. I'm having trouble fitting a single 8" without it looking stupid...
