Default 1992 EZGO Marathon Gas Upgrades

I just picked up a 1992 Marathon, and I have noticed that these carts are hard to find parts for. It is bone stock right now, but I am installing a 4" lift and some 22" MudBusters this week. What other things would you do to this cart? I dont have much $$$ to throw at it, but I would like to do some more upgrades in the future. I would like to see some pictures of some of the mods that you have done to your Marathons if you have one.

Hello EazyGo! Welcome to BGW.

Marathons are very fun and easy to mod! Take a look at the pic in my sig and avatar. Just a few things you can do with hardly no money. If you search for "MB523's 1977 EZGO" you should find my build thread with pics that may help you.

Do you have the 2-stroke engine of the 4-stroke engine?

I have the 4 stroke. Some of the things that have been done to it are, rear seat, top, fold down windshield. lights. 4" lift, and 22" Mudbogs. HOw much speed will I pick up with the 22" tires over the stock tires?

around 4-5 mph, depends on the tire and rim they're mounted on. Just cause it says 22" doesn't mean it will end up being that size

Thanks guys. I measured the tires that I got, from the ground to the top of the tire, and I came up with 23.5 inches. They are mounted on 8" rims. I would like to get some diamond plate trim for my cart, but have noticed that I cant get anything for this cart. I would like to get the front shock covers, rocker panel covers, and the kick plate peice. Are there any places that I can get this stuff from, ot do I have to have it custom made. You can get this stuff for the newer EZGO's, but not sure if they will fit on my marathon.

here is mine before and after. I made most of the stuff myself or used other stuff and made it fit. I recently flipped it and broke the steering column and gear box. Will be fixed soon (thanks to bhfear). I turned my clutch into a 28 degree clutch and used a 1inch shorter belt too. Made the rear seat and folds out to a diamond plate flat bed. made the single seat backs and had an amish guy recover and pad the seat s. He did a great job and only charged $165.00
