Default 1990 EZ Go GXT800 workhorse wiring

Can anyone help out with the wiring on this unit. I got drafted by my church to get the lights working. All of the wiring harnesses are factory and the front and rear lights are installed but no switch to turn them on. A schematic or layout diagram would be most helpful. Having problems tracing wires back cause they are all wrapped up in the harnesses and kind of dirty plus several are unplugged. Thanks for any help in advance.

Is there a third position on key switch, if so the lights will turn on there.

No third position but that would make sense. There are only 2 lugs on the key switch. I am thinking they were installed at the factory but never hooked up. There is also wiring for turn signal and brake lights but they are not hooked up either. I am thinking about putting an auxiliary switch on the dash and pull power from the solenoid that is not hot till the gas is depressed. That way no one can leave the lights on and run down the battery, What are your thoughts.

welcome. go to the top of this forum and find "gas tech". locate the post with gold stars and follow the link in there to bennets carts. your manual is in there. 89-91 marathon parts for instance.

this one a friend and i built. an 89 model.

Thanks for the reply Madoc1. I made it to Bennets cart site and found a parts/service manual for my cart but it didn't help much on the wiring. They don't show anything for the lights or have a schematic that I could use to trace the harness wires. Guess I may just have to go to the old cut and splice method and run my own circuit versus using the existing wiring. I don't want to hook into something that I am not sure what all it goes to, might end up melting some important stuff.

Like what you did to the carts in the pictures, was the lift kits difficult to do. I have a couple of Yamaha's I thought about lifting.

thx. the 800 is basically a marathon with a dp body and hd suspension, so we used a 5" lift kit off ebay. about $80 and easy to install.
