Re: cart wont climb
Year? Engine compression? Sounds like you need clutches?

Re: cart wont climb
supposed 2 be 2001 thats what guy at ezgo shop said.guy that i bought it from said 2004 not sure but would lean 2 the ezgo guy. have not done compression test yet where should it b 120 -140? also what size motor does this have (horsepower wise)in neutral i can see front piece close and rear piece open looks 2 be working. even up the hill with seat off( very uncom4ble ) belt doesnt appear 2 be slipping at least no smoke? motor just kinda flattens off and cart slows? thanks again

Re: cart wont climb
By your number it's an 2001. compression should be around 150. it should be a 295cc 9hp robin engine look for eh29 on the engine. It does sound like a driven clutch problem, like it won't shift down from the higher gear. Is that what it's doing when you go up a hill?

Re: cart wont climb
Mike, most people don't want to spend a $1000 for batteries, $900 for a motor and controller, another $200 os so in cables, solidnoid, ect, and $400 for a charger, on top of the price of an electric cart. If I dumped that much money into a cart I would expect it to run any time I wanted it to, not have a few hours of run time and then have to wait another 12 hours while it charged so I could run it another 2.

Re: cart wont climb
yes it sounds like its not calling on the motor or the motor just stays at one rpm i would have thought like a lawnmower engine in tall grass the motor would step up on the rpms and go, but its not. but in neutral the rpms just scream.when you say shift does it actually shift or do you mean the motor will change?

On the cvt the belt should start riding back up the the rear pully sheaves when going up hill, this in effect changes the gear ratio to account for the increased load on the system. If it doesn't it will act as though it's stuck in high gear, if this happens there is a point when the engine doesn't have enough power to overcome the load placed on it. |
