Rear leaf upgrade choices
I want to replace the rear leafs on my 99 TXT and am getting a little overwhelmed with all of the choices. The cart is lifted with a rear seat option and currently has a 2 leaf setup which is sacked.
In my other thread, folks suggested going to a 3 leaf which will be stronger but will not be too firm. Most of the site sponsors list a heavy duty 4 leaf setup which I’m worried might be on the firm side. Adding to the confusion, the EZGO website states that the 3 leaf ( part# 70505 G01) is standard on 94 to current carts so I’m not sure this would be any firmer than the 2 leaf I currently have. They also list a 3 leaf 2 stage spring (part# 603109) which they refer to as a standard duty spring. They also list heavy duty 4 leafs which I imagine are the ones folks are telling me to stay away from. Since nobody lists the ratings of these springs, it seems like kind of a crap shoot as to what you would receive. If I go to a supply store to buy a new trailer spring, they rate them (ie 1750 lbs) so I know what I’m buying. Can anyone give me a little direction on what to buy and what to avoid? Thanks |

Re: Rear leaf upgrade choices
Go for four leafs, in the beginning ez go put 2 leafs in the rear suspensions but somewhere along the line they switched to 3. my 2008 has a 3 leaf setup. However, all the lifted ez gos come with 4 leafs, so thats what i would go with.

Re: Rear leaf upgrade choices
I use an aftermarket 3 leaf with the rear seat and I am quite pleased...it is the standard 3 leaf and run about $100 a pr.
Hope this helps |

Re: Rear leaf upgrade choices
My concern with the 4 leafs is others have said they were a bit too stiff but I know that would be dependent on which 4 leaf they used. There should be a differentiation between a 4 seat pleasure cart and a work cart.
