Default Marathon Muffler question

Hi,

I took my muffler off to BBQ it and decided to have it bead blasted while I had it out. I work at a pipe fab shop with access to one. Anyway, muffler came out very nice and now I plan to spray with with high temp black paint. After I took it out of the bead blaster I noticed that now there's something rattling around inside that I didn't notice before. Sounds like metal. Is there anything inside the muffler that can break? At first I thought it was just carbon buildup that came loose during the bead blasting process but now I'm not so sure.

i think there are baffles in there for sound control. they may be loose, but that shouldn't hurt anything.

Okay, thanks for the info. Sounds like they are moving around inside the muffler. I sprayed it with some cheap flat black last night to keep it from rusting until I can throw it in the BBQ. That bead blaster really cleaned it up and made it all nice and shiny.

My baffle was loose and I could hear it rattle inside so I cut the muffler in two with a angle grinder and cutoff disk just below the bottom mounting bracket. Welded it back in then welded the muffler back together painted it good as new.
