Default Engine oiler reservoir - 83 ezgo

In reading through previous posts it appears there is supposed to be a reservoir for the engine oiler injection system. I've not found anything that seems to fit that description on our cart. Would someone mind posting some pictures showing where the oiler is supposed to be.

I'm planning on eliminating it but I would sure like to know what I'm supposed to eliminate

Thanks,

Brad

The oil tank should be on the passenger side behind the air filter.

When you take the oil injection system off you need to remove the following items. Then plug the holes with a plug.

1. Oil tank
2. Oil pump
3. Oil lines

I have highlighted it in red...
There is the little tank which leads to the pump.
From the pump an oil line goes to the top of the carb and a steel cable goes to the throttle to regulate flow..

As they say a picture is worth a thousand words. Great picture. The tank, oil line and control cable have been removed from our cart. Saves me the hassle of doing it myself

Thanks for the picture!

Hiya,

I'll try and take a pic tomorrow.. But until then.. Look at the picture above. See the 2 cables in between the red highlighted cables.. the top one is the govenor cable.. it passes thru the shifter and arcs around to the lever in front of the clutch on the differential. I'll take a picture...

Dig it.. When that clutch on the right side of the pic speeds up, it pushes out(direction of arrow).. pushing a lever.. pulling a cable and reeling your throttle back. Look for any of that stuff i've highlighted..

Is it a bad thing to remove the govenor?? If not do you just dis connect it at the throttle cable?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, this is my first golf cart and I'm just looking for some extra speed.
Thanks

On my 80 model the other end of the cable went to the carb. I just took it loose there. I can't see the picture that was posted from work but I would say that they are the same.

Yeah, just loosen the little cable stopper on the carb end.. That's what I did and when I hear my engines revving to high i let up on the gas some. But when I know other people are gonna use my buggy.. I cinch it in a little because they need to governed..
