Default EZGO clays car g #F1804 need max speed

I want the cart to go as fast as possible. Whats the easiest way to the speed out of the cart. It has 20" tires.
Can you bypass the governor?
Carb mods?
Any suggestions?

Thanks Craig

Hi Craig, long time ago I spent about a year in training down around where your at on the navy base. Stupidest place for a navy base anyone could come up with (no offense).
Anyway adjust the gov.

This should get you around 22mph (depending on tire size - taller is faster). From that point (because of the rev limiter) theres not much you can do that doesn't cost a bunch to get more speed like a gearing change. Taller tires are the same as changing gears, just easier to undo.

Besides governor mod, not much you can dpo to achieve more top end speed.. All other mods mwill provide you with more torque, but as far as top end, the only thung you can do to a stock engine is either chaning the tranny gears, or increasing tire diameter. Also please remember that any 'improvement' in gearing will compromise torque..

There is a thread somewhere that sort of explains hot to modify the governor using zip tie.

I screw the govenor in. It appears to have about 1/2" or so left.
Will it hurt to screw in the rest of the way? I know on Yam's it tends to break the throttle cables.
It went from 14 mph to 18 mph by adjusting the govenor.

It won't hurt it to screw the gov. all the way in, use some pliers to hold the the metal end by the cable. the engine has a rev limiter and it will not let you over rev it. I would adjust the gov to right before the rev limiter kicks in, this would take some fine tunning to get right.
Forget about the zip tie, it doesn't work the same on the newer cart as it does on older ones. It's kinda a lame way of doing that anyway, I mean it's adjustable, it's made to adjust, not tie up.
