Default Drive Clutch threads stripped! Any suggestions?

In my attempt to pull off a drive clutch from an old Jacobsen, the threads galled up on my puller. Any thoughts on how to pull of a clutch after the puller bolt is no longer an option? It's currently soaking in PB blaster.

Wesley I'm afraid your shot down without buying a new puller. The bolt is hardened and when this happens it rolls the threads in the puller. I don't think your going to make it live even with PB. When using any puller apply some lube like anti seize or bearing guard maybe even oil to prevent this. At this point you may have to cut the puller bolts just to remove the puller. SORRY

I am unfamiliar with Jacobsen but I assume that you posted it here as it is some sort of EZGO dirivitive. The reason I mention this is that my EZGO OEM clutch had a plastic plug inside the clutch to protect the clutch thread. Is it at all possible that you have screwed into this which would of course rip out but leave the clutch threads intact?

yes jacobsen is an ezgo textron subsidiary, and i wish a plastic plug was in place but the threads are gone. i think ill have to disassemble on the car and start cutting, lucky the clutch was bad anyway.

The only other option is to use a hydraulic press or a verry very large gear puller, the type with the three arms that could hook to the v belt pulley. A shop press is probably best but set up will be hard as you have to put whole motor in press.
