Default removing secondary clutch to my 1986 ezgo

I have removed the engine and all surrounding components on my 1986 gas ezgo. I am trying to remove the secondary clutch in order to rebuild or replace but i do not know what is required or how to do this. I would appreciate any good words of advice. Thank you.

Well GOAT your in luck all you do is remove the bolt in the center of the clutch and it will come right off. It's on splines.

I removed the bolt, but i think the spline is rusted on. perhaps a little penatrating oil and elbow grease. Thanks again.

Most everyone on here uses PB blaster don't leave home with out it. You may have to jack it up an use a rubber or soft mallet to convince it.

Yes, It took a little persuasion with a cold chisel but it popped off. Now it would seem to take it apart would be even a greater challenge. Is it possible, or do i need to buy a new one?

Yes you can disassemble the clutch although you should be aware that the spring needs to be treated with great caution. Here is a nice video, it might not be the same as yours but the principles are the same.

Thanks for the video, unfortunately my clutch does not have a snap ring. It almost looks as though it was pressed in as indicated in the pic. Any other suggestions?

Not sure but somehow it was assembled. If I were determined to mess with it I would try to compress it as in the video and see if the snap ring is recessed. Alternatively you could bite the bullet and just get a new one. I think the best price I found was $165, you may find cheaper on ebay but I am always concerned about warranty issues when buying big parts like a clutch from strangers.

Good luck
