Default Newcomer that got a great deal on my 97 EZGO - so I think

So, as I have been looking for a "toy", I was informed that a local person as looking to get rid of their cart. It is a 96 TXT EZGO, gas, 2 cylinder, with rear seat, windshield and top. He just had it serviced in the Fall and put a new battery in it. Only downside he said was that the gas was a little old as he hadn't driven it in a while. Thing runs great for the most part. Either its the cold, or the old gas, but to get it running good, the choke is needed for a while. The fuel filter also looks like i could replace that. I also found a pen in the gas tank - WTH??

Anyway, I picked this bad boy up for $1,200! From what I researched, this was a pretty darn good deal! It saved a little cash so that i can put it into it. After all, my community allows golf carts on the roadways. A few small restaurants, bars, a couple golf courses all nearby. And a park for my daughter.

Anyway, thought I would see what you all thought about my deal?

Welcome to the addiction. You got a heck of a deal there. I'd suggest changing the fuel filter and spark plugs now.

Nokia was looking at the picture of your engine and it looks to me like the fuel filter is in backwards, don't know for sure if it makes a difference on the filter you have or not some have arrows on them? Just a thought

Thanks for noticing the gas filter! I was gonna hold off on the filter until I ran the gas out - but not sure - Only maybe an hr left of gas, but with it being **** cold, not sure when i can run it that long without freezing, or looking stupid driving with all my winter gear on!

Got to finally work on the cart today. I replaced the fuel filter - WOW was that gunked up!!! Got the pen out of the fuel tank, installed the rear view mirror, and the slow moving vehicle sign - city ordinance. In regards to the filter, it was correct! the new one had arrows on it, and its the same way!
