Default Long start 1990 2stroke

New to this forum. It's a 1990 2 stroke that takes a long time to start. I put new fuel hoses, fuel pump, plug and dipped the carb in my carb cleaner bucket. I have a video of it starting after I drove down the street to warm it up but can't post link for 28 days.

Is the choke working? Seems awful long to get going...I would check to be sure the choke is closing all the way 1st. If it is, will it start FASTER on starting fluid? If yes then we definately have fuel problems. Also, I'm assuming you put new fuel filters (yes there are 2 of them!!) on when you did all the other work. Let me know.

I don't have an EZGo 2 stroke but I do have a G1 2 stroke. Mine loves a fresh spark plug, when it gets to a point that I have to crank for a while I install and new one and it cranks right up.

here's a update. I did a compression test and only had 30.. I pulled the motor and took the top end off. Rings and piston are bad. The piston has "f" and a
"25" stamped on the top. Is that a stock piston? The inside of the jug looks great so i was thinking piston, rings and seals. My next question is i'm going to premix fuel now so can i take the oil injector parts and linkage off the side of the motor now?

I unhooked the oiler on my G1 and pre-mix. I do use the Amsoil in mine and it works great.

First of all I would just go with the top end rebuild kit about $200.00 comes with everything gaskets and all. Replace the seals in both sides while the engine is out & maybe clean & inspect the clutch. AS for as the injection pump remove it from the flywheel cover-remove the cable-remove the banjo fitting on the intake manifold and plug this hole with a short 6mm bolt or or screw and your done. Then you can also remove the oil tank & lines to clean everything up. Now mix your first tank of fuel at 3oz per gal after that 1oz per gallon or 128:1. Hope this helps any questions shout out.
