Default 2010 st 2+2 driven clutch

Just a little info on these new clutches. I took this off my buggy last night after having to drop the right side of the axle a half can of pb blaster several types of various midevil pullers 2 hours of limited patients and 6 beers. It seems ezgo has chosen to go with a tapered shaft fit on these. Now for my questions. Does anybody know if these can be machined or if a hevy duty spring is available for better power. It looks different than any other clutch I have seen. The normal areas to machine simply are not there without getting into the bronze bearing in the recessed area. Hopefully Tom at cpp can shed a little light. Ok tried to post picts cant do it from smart phone. I will try to post them later

Yes Tom was very quick to get back to me and said it was no problem and to send it in. I have since chosen another road to try. Found a web site wich wasnt easy because their link requires the whole http:/ prefix to work right. They actually specialize in clutch springs and extreme duty belts. I guess their flagship work around yard cart is an st 400. Ordered their extreme power kit that I was told they have been doing extensive testing on. The site is http://www.erlandsontechnology.com. I paid for the two day air so I should have it on Friday. Just wanted to try a few bolt on mods first (still under warranty for another year ya know). Thanks for the intrest in this post and I will report back with how it performs

Just coming back to finish this thread. I installed erlandson's clutch kit and the results were excellent. The kit was $99 tool $35 and shipping $15(two day express) I would highly recomend that anyone that is looking for all around better performance from their cart talk to Glenn at www.erlandsontechnology.com . Thank you for all the help this forum is great

I'm hopefully going to get the bolt I need to make the puller flown in from the mainland tomorrow.
So if you could go into a bit more details on your removal process I would appreciate it. Why did you have to drop the axle? And which puller eventually worked?

Thanks again

The three jaw puller I had was quite large and the right rear spring was in the way of positioning it. Also had to rachet strap the jaws around the clutch to keep them from slipping off. I noticed that when I started tightening the puller it was bending the sheave alot. I finally decided it was ether going to pop off or break luckily it finally came off. The puller bolt made everything easy just be shure that if you decide to make one you go slowly you dont want to make a bigger mess out of it. Little bit of tighening little bit of tapping. It must be tough doing these projects with limited resources however it must make you quite the " Macgyver" hope you have seen that show or you will have no idea what I am refering to. Let me know how it goes. Ps if you are looking for more power check out www.erlandsontechnology.com. They have all tools springs and belts you will need I guess order it now and get it in two months sorry. Good luck keep me posted

Ok.

I finally got the 14mm fine thread bolt and removed the clutch. I had to go the mainland myself and get the bolt.

It seems the compression spring inside the clutch has been warped and jammed between the ramp and cam. This caused the C-clip to release and the cam slipped off the spline.

So, it looks like I need a new Driven clutch spring and a set of ramps.

Does anyone know the part numbers for the kawasaki driven clutch spring and the ramps?

I'm going to try calling the EZ-GO dealer in Panama City tomorrow to see if they have the parts. I would just like the part numbers to make it as simple as possible. In Panama they have a habit of sending you the "closest match" part if you are not extremely specific.

Thanks again
