Rear axle bearings
I blew out a rear axle bearing, but I'm not sure what EZGO number to replace it with.
The bearing seal has 6205 NSG on it, but that doesn't translate back to any EZGO #'s The axle's vintage is unknown; but it's a 4 stroke, originally equipped with a 295, and is early-mid 90's & had coil spring suspension. What bearing do I need? When the axle walks out of the housing while underway, does the inner differential seal survive or should I plan on replacing that too? What seal #? Does EZGO have something against publishing a exploded parts diagram and part # list? |

Re: Rear axle bearings
IR, if you have a Motion Industries near you they will have the parts or will have next day, pull them and take them in.

Re: Rear axle bearings
Go to a bearing-supplier or Grainger,etc..They can find it.I took my 2-stroke Marathon bearing to Grainger last year, and walked out 10min. later with a bearing for $20.

Re: Rear axle bearings
If you can read the bearing number you can get bearings anywhere that sell them. It will be the same number regardless of which brand. I had to replace my front wheel bearings and didn't want to pay factory prices and found the same bearing number at my local auto part store. Hope this helps.

Re: Rear axle bearings
The marking on your bearing is NSK 6205. Just Google "NSK 6205" and you will find many places to buy from, likely cheaper than EZ-GO direct. Here's one example:

Re: Rear axle bearings
How about the inner seal?
Do they survive an axle walking out? |

Re: Rear axle bearings
Inner seal is marked BH 4887 E NOK
Google comes up with nothing. I even stripped down the letters to widen the search and nothing relevant shows. Bearing looks like a industrial standard part. |

Re: Rear axle bearings
Take the seal and bearing numbers to a parts store that's sells bearings and seals and they be able get get you the right parts. Bearings and seals uaually have the same number regardless of brand. Hope that helps.
