Default shorter belt

I have a 93 marathon 4 cycle put a 4 inch lift and some bigger tires. Maybe 22's not sure the cart is 600 miles away. Just put on the torque clutch on and a new spring in the primary. The belt seems a little big and it does better on hills but still slows way down if there is three guys on the cart. would a shorter belt help? Also looking to change out the tires to maybe 18 or smaller not sure yet.
