85 marathon Driven clutch question

I have 85 marathon and I want to change the spring or add shims to the Driven clutch.
How do I remove the cover? There seem to be no c-clip.
The cover on the clutch has a set screw between the cover and the shaft.

There should be three little screws that hold the cover on the clutch. Once you get that off there's one long bolt that holds the clutch to the rearend and it should slide off fairly easy, if not tap it with a hammer to knock it loose. My 79 is like this. Yours should be the same.

Sorry I didn't explain myself correctly.
I have the clutch off the cart and I have it on the bench.
I'm trying to remove the aluminum cover that retains the spring.
I want to add shims to add more pressure.
At high speed the belt suck into the bottom of the pulleys.

I have never tore into a clutch before so I can't help you here. I thought you were referring to removing it from the cart. Hopefully someone will be along shortly to help us both cause I'm interested myself. Sorry about that. Hows your belt? If its an inch or narrower it wore out. Just a thought.

I just put on a new Drive clutch and belt.
At high speed the belt get sucked into the bottom of the driven clutch.
I was told that the spring is old and needs shims or replaced.

I looked up the disasembly of the driven clutch and it looks like you have to compress the spring obviously then it looks like just one retainer "c" looking clip then it should come apart according to the pics. I can't seem to download a pic of it. Hope this helps.

Here's some pictures of the clutch.
Notice the set screw between the cover and the shaft.
And I noticed the spring just floats between the assembly, so clocking the spring is not available.

Yes you can't clock it (without modification) but here is how it comes apart so you can replace the spring or shim it. The diagnosis in post 5 is spot on.

This is not my type of clutch.
I dont have a c-clip retainer.
Any body know how to take my clutch apart?
