Default 1984 Marathon Wiring Questions...

I'm posting for hubby...

We got the cart Thursday and he's just getting into it, tracing some wires and stuff. He's scratching his head, even tho he's an electrician by trade (but not an auto electrician).

We have the manual we found on here, but it shows 3 posts on the solenoid, this one has 4 (with LOTS of unnamed wires coming out of it).

One of those wires is yellow w a red stripe that has him confounded

Try this diagram on for size, it should be the one for your setup:

Unless the large black (4AWG) wire is going to your starter generator, it is on the wrong terminal.

No problem. Your Yellow/red wire is also on the wrong terminal. It is supposed to be on the D terminal and going to the ingitor.

Looking at it closely, it looks as though someone wired it the "mirror" opposite.
