belt slips off going up hill and makes roaring noise

i have a 95 txt and it runs well on flat ground but when i go up a steep incline the belt stops moving and the cart makes a loud roaring noise in the rear and chatters. it also kinda hops a little. do i just need to replace the belt or do i have worse problems?

Measure the width of the belt, it should be 1 3/16th wide. Anything less than 1 1/16th and the belt is probably your problem.

thanks so much. i picked up a belt today and im gonna try it when i get home. hopefully that will fix it

if u get the one inch shorter belt it gives it more spead and torque

Try cleaning out the shift ball on the rear end its on the passengers side it could be full of **** and not completely shifting in to gear

I've been looking for a shorter belt for my G2. One inch shorter is 38-1 3/16's. No one locally has been any help.

try just looking up traditional cog belts in that size or maybe calling a authorized yamaha dealer
