295cc ezgo rebuild first start
Ive got a 2003 ezgo txt with the 295cc robins motor. I just finished replacing a connecting rod that broke due to low oil. My question is, is there a specific procedure in starting the motor after a rebuild? When reassembling the motor, I filled the crank with oil and used assembly lube on the rod journals. Is there any way to prime the oil pump before starting?
Thanks |

Re: 295cc ezgo rebuild first start
The procedure i have used and has worked well is to remove spark plugs, this takes pressure off the bearings and rings. Fill with oil to full mark and install new filter. Crank motor until oil pressure shows on your gage, if you dont have a gage crank 30sec to 1 min and you will notice motor speed up doing cranking, this is the sign your bearings have oil and pressure. Install spark plugs and start, check oil level after intial run.
