Front wheel bearing FYI
When I did a search here for front wheel bearing options, I didn't really get any hits so I'm posting what I found:
Obviously wheel bearing and seals are available through shopezgo.com and other sources but I didn't feel like paying shipping and waiting for the parts. As some of you are aware, any bearing can be had from a multitude of suppliers as long as you have the number off the bearing. The numbers on my bearings are Timken L44643. I went to my local NAPA and had them cross reference and it seems that the front hubs use the same bearings as small trailers. They have a whole kit available or individual parts but the kit ends up being cheaper if you need everything. I also found a similar kit at AutoZone. Hopefully, this will save everyone some valuable time Here are all of the part numbers and links: Bearing and race: NAPA PN: BR14 $11.49 Seal: NAPA PN: 12165 $7.99 Complete bearing kit W/ 2 bearings, seal cotter pin and dust cap: NAPA PN: 21 $26.00 AutoZone PN:BT100 (Autozone kit comes with grease but no dust cap.) $21.99 http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...entifier=12285 |

Thanks for the info... I just did mine last week.
I got the stuff from NAPA but didn't know they had the kit much better price. |

Re: Front wheel bearing FYI
The package in the pic states "fits most 1" axles"- so I assume they are 1"

I didn't measure the shaft because it's irrelevant when you have the number off the bearing...

Re: Front wheel bearing FYI
That rocks, thanks! I pulled the hubs on my '91 Marathon and the passenger side was, in technical terms, "crunchy". This lets me complete my front end project today instead of ordering online and waiting a week.

With the bearing number you can get them anywhere that sells bearings. Same with the seals they have a number too. The numbers are the same no matter what brands they are.
