Default 88 EZGO, Exhaust bolt came out.

Going to get a new gasket and bolt. Any suggestions on sealant for the gasket and threading locking to keep these bolts from coming back out?

I would like to run a tap on the threads of the manifold, to make sure they are clean.
What size in this bolt 5/16 x 24?
Should they be torque

Craig I think you'll find the stud is metric.Remove the other stud so you can compare it to your new stud lenght/ threads and nuts.Jam two nuts on the stud and apply red loctite and secure them into the cylinder casting. Now the nuts I use steel not nylon self locking nuts also with a lock washer to spread the load and a bit of blue loctite won't hurt a thing. Your finished and good to go.

Thanks Lou, they were M8x1.25 x 30mm.. I did not have another stud to compare, previous owner had put bolts in.. and both were gone. I used a thread pitch gauge and a vernier slide caliper for depth to figure out the replacement stud
