Rebuilt Engine Issues
Robin Engine
Model: EC25-2PG Disp: 244cc Motor No: 83-08185 Engine will not run unless you hold the choke a little. The engine does not throttle up much it has had the oil system removed and is using a premix. 35:1 is mix atm for break in. Compression is at 125 lbs. I dont know if it is a carb, Fuel pump, timing or a gas mix issue. The motor had had the following parts replaced Crankshaft cylinder Piston Piston Rings Crankshaft Seals Crankshaft Bearings Spark Plug Carb Gaskets Reed Gaskets Cylinder Gasket Head Gasket Fuel Pump Gasket Fuel Lines Fuel Filter Starter Belt Exhaust gasket |

Re: Rebuilt Engine Issues
Ok, for your fuel pump, remove the line from the pump outlet going to the carburetor. Then crank the engine. You should have a good spurt about 6"-12" high, consistently pulsing out in time with the engine rotation. That's the easiest test.
35:1 is pretty thick for a even break in.I'd go 50:1 and I'm sure someone can back me on this. It's what I used when I rebuilt mine.A few tanks later and now I run at 100:1, which is a bit thick. I am thinking carb issues, but do the fuel pump and let's see what you get. |
