Default Top End Won't Come Apart

I traded for this 1984 unit and found engine was locked.
After taking it out a couple months ago I finally started to take top end apart too see what I needed for parts and can NOT get the rings undone.
I have tried everything short of heat.
After getting jugs raised with a lot of pounding to get rod unstuck and jug past pins to have swinging room, rod at TDC, it still does nothing but tell me i am an idiot for even trying to think I can rebuild this plant.

Question is what do I do now ??
Do I get a different motor similar to this one (244 cc), get a briggs, snowmobile, motorcycle, engine from a three wheeler, or just get a tow rope to drive around behind the truck.

Please keep in mind I and Ma are disabled and have little funds, and me to do a Ton of grunt work is hard considering I am in a chair most of the time.

I really do not want to start drinking again.

Any ideas ??

This issue could be caused by a piston ring sticking out of a port (exhuast or intake) and keeping the piston from sliding past the port- take the exhaust pipe off and inspect the exhaust port (with a mirror if it is still on the cart). Since the piston and cylinder are trashed, I'd set the cylinder in its proper place on the crankcase, remove the head and and tap the piston down to bottom dead center with a wooden hammer handle, then I'd raise the cylinder up an inch off the crankcase and use small blocks of wood as spacers between the cylinders and the crankcase (keep the spacing even between the bottom of the jug and the crankcase) and tap it down some more.

I have raised the jug off of the studs and blocked and hit it all different directions and the piston does not move from the jug.

I have even tried to spin the jug to see if it would break loose.

What direction do i head to to get a different motor, what kind, from what, and with the understanding i am not with funds very well, BUT have many items to barter to get something.

Does the cylinder appear to have rust in it ? Try putting PB blaster in it for a bit then push the jug back down and raise it up & down to see if you get any extra movement. As stated above a ring also may be broke and hanging in one of the ports. Is the engine out ? If so at this point if you can't get it to free place it on the work bench get the biggest hammer and chisel you have and break the piston. Your going to need an upper end kit so your not loosing anything but time. After removing the jug be sure to clean the crankcase real good to remove any aluminum pieces left behind. Sounds crude but its the only way I can think of saving the engine.

engine is on table.
It is only me to hold and pound. I have a large hammer and this is really really locked up.
I an freaking. I dont know what to do but to put something else in.
We just want to have something to get the mail and put around the park at times.
We live in a resort and would be nice to even get to the flowage to watch the waves.
The lower end I am NOT sure is not in need of repair.

Even the rod needed lube to get to move. The bearings of crank are even a little stiff.
Am I crying too much ??

Ask an old snowmobile guy in your area over for a beer and help.

This is what I would suggest. First make sure your rear axle assembly turns freely and makes no weird noises. If it appears Ok, then put a wanted ad for an engine in the " Golf Carts and Parts " section.
If your rear axle is bad too, I'd be looking for another cart!
Your present engine sounds like a total overhaul may be needed and finding a good used engine will probably be your best bet to get running again!

Angry Re: Top End Won't Come Apart

Well I did some more POUNDING and now have the ports seen.
This is the most remarkable tear Down I can ever imagine.

This cart has a lift kit, NEW carlile (SP) tires, and more and seems to be a shame to part it out.
I am thinking to turn it into a chain drive, or even put in a snow motor, but then again maybe a plant from a three wheeler that has reverse.

I am pissed, bummed, hurt fiscally, and getting any help in this area is impossible.
We have been trying to hire for so long and basically gave up on hiring and by me doing anything in my condition is taking me down, FAST.

So much to do and debating to just live with walls and no insulation.
