Newbie needs help with a 1988 ezgo
Hi Guy's!
I'm new to the cart scene, I just bought a 1988 ezgo gas. Can anyone tell me what model it is? Here is what was on the plate: EZ GO Tex Tron Serial No. 489654 Manuf. Code - H0888 Is there an online link to a service manual or parts manual for my cart? The cart has sat for a long time and doesn't run. I jumped the start and it turns the engine over and I had 110psi. compression. I can't get any power through the forward/reverse switch. I know the accelerator switch is bad because it sticks in the closed position. Can anyone give me some pointers as to where to start tracking down the wiring issues? I also need some parts: Service Manual Complete Driven Clutch Fuel Tank Front Black Plastic Cowl Utility Bed If you have any of these parts you would like to sell email or pm me. |

Re: Newbie needs help with a 1988 ezgo
Well I put a new battery in the this thing, pulled the micro switch from the accelerator out and cleaned in and got it working. I reinstalled the switch and that fixed the electrical issues, and it STARTED! Now I have to find a gas tank, driven clutch, front cowl, and new tires. Then I am going to repaint it and recover the seats and she will be cherry!

Re: Newbie needs help with a 1988 ezgo
Thanks guy's I will try to get some pictures up this weekend. I've got to get some parts ordered (Driven Clutch, Fuel Tank, Front Cowl, Service Manual, etc.) I haven't been able to come up with anything used so I guess I will have to buy new. I will probably place my order on Monday. I'm making my list of all the little items I need also.

Re: Newbie needs help with a 1988 ezgo
Here are some pics. I forgot to take some when I got it home. I have already power washed it here, and taken some of it apart. The seat is already in the process of recovering. I have a new driven clutch and fuel tank ordered. I got it started so hopefully when I get the clutch and fuel tank I will be ablr to drive it. It's a little rough but it will look good when I am done with it. Let me know what you think. I got it for $200. Probably a little high for what it is but not to bad.
