Default 88 ezgo

got a 88 ezgo with a robins 244cc can i put a snow mobil motor in it has it been done let me no i need help thanks

Anything CAN be done, just at what expense ... First off, the 2PG 244cc runs backwards to give you a reverse gear, so You'd have to find a sled motor that did the same OR invest in an entirely new rear end from an 89-93 4-stroke as well as the shifting linkage, etc ... Then of course, make mounts, etc as well as anything else that needed tweaking such as cabling, ignition, etc

Robin/Fuji made a series of snowmobile engines that fit the bill, you'll have to do some searching here on the forum though (there's at least ONE good thread detailing the swap) - if I remember right it's basically a drop-in other than the crank is slighly different and requires machining to reuse your clutch assembly, also IIRC it's not a cheap engine if you can find one, although it supposedly makes 7K RPM as versus a redline of 5K for your engine, and also I believe was almost 20hp (as versus 11 for the 1988 2PG)

Be aware that you will need to modify the ignition system to get the timing advanced enough for engine to run backwards (the engine must run backwards for you to move in "reverse").
