Default ezgo solenoid help

my cart won't turn over, won't even click. when using a screw driver to jump the terminals on the solenoid, it will turn over, but won't start.

does this sound like a combination of a bad solenoid and spark plug (what i'm thinking and hoping), or does this sound like a loose wire somewhere.

i ask, as i don't know if there is a wire connected to a switch that in addition to not allowing the starter to turn over, won't allow spark to the plug.

if it is the solenoid/plug combo, is this a specialty-type solenoid, or something that can be bought at the local auto store? if it can be bought at the auto store, any cross references? :D (i believe this is the one, for reference http://www.golfcarcatalog.com/catalo...Id=708&id=2500)

The most frequent cause of this is a bad connection or broken terminal on the fusible link that runs from your solenoid to a microswitch on the back of your F&R switch. If this is not the problem. The next two things to check would be your key switch and the microswitch in the pedal box under the floor mat. Hope this helps

1 problem at a time...1st replace the solenoid to get the engine to turn over, once you have that then you need compression, fuel and spark for it to run.......get rear wheels off ground and pull the fuel line at the carb to see if its pumping fuel if so take the plug out put back in the boot lay against engine crank over and check for spark........if so check for compression........post what you find...........................

I tend to agree with this, sounds like you've lost power, I would check fuses, connection, and switches before throwing money in parts at it.

Cool Re: ezgo solenoid help

When you jumped the solenoid with the screwdriver did you have the key switch on?
