We have 12 EZ GO 4 cyl workhorse's and one of them keeps either sucking the engine end cover gasket in or blowing it out. It usually does it on the top near the oil pressure sending unit. I thought the end plate may be distorted, but I checked it with a straight edge and it is ok. The engine runs and starts good and has plenty of power. What am I missing? After replacing the gasket it will last about a month and do it again.
Thanks in advance Danny Rohling Country Club Of Bham |

There should be a small o-ring that goes in where the oil passage that goes to the presser switch, this sets inside the gasket where it looks like a bolt goes through. there is a recess in the case for the o-ring to accommodate its thickness. If the o-ring is left out it will blow out the gasket in that area. If a new o-ring is used each time you've replaced the gasket and it's still is blowing out, the case itself may be distorted. the engine manual shows how to check the case for distortion but you have to basically gut the case to do that.

I did not tear this engine down originally. The person who did tear it down Quit and left me with a box of parts. Guess what? There is no o-ring anywhere to be found. Thanks for your help. I picked up a new gasket and o-ring today.I am sure this will solve the problem.
