Default New owner 91 EZGO GXI 800

Hello everyone,

I just purchased a 1991 EZGO GXI 800. It is a utility cart with a full metal cabin, windows, lift bed, ect. It has been sitting in a storage container for, well who knows. The guy that I bought it from knows nothing about it. Doing some research and found this forum.

Cart has Serial no: A21807
Manufacturing Code: F1691

I hope you guys might know something about my new purchase. I think it has the Robin 2 cycle engine it. I have posted some pics for review.

Funny thing is I can't find my any information on my cart anywhere? I know that it might need a major rebuild. The hour meter says it has 1024 hours on it. Is that a lot for these carts?

I will be picking it tomorrow and will post more information, but wanted to introduce myself and let you know a little but about what I have going on with this cart.

Any information about this cart would be much appreciated.

Thank you for looking at my post.

Welcome!!Post some pics, those will help.I'm sure someone here knows about that particular cart.I thought Ez-Go dropped 2-strokes in 89' or 90',but it could be a carryover-year.Enjoy it!!

(Front of the engine please - looks like a 3PG 2-stroke from here, but I'm half upside-down at the moment)

Thank you,

Just posted some pics of my new Project!!!

I can't wait to get it and start rebuilding it!!! If you can see the pics it has one spark plug. This is what makes me think it might be a Robin 2 cycle?

I really wish it was the 2 cylinder version. From the research I have done it looks like EZGO started putting the 2 cylinder engine in during the some time.

WOW, Thank you for the quick replys.

I am assuming that the front of the engine is actually in the back of the cart looking from the bed?

I will have more pics tomorrow, But looking at the pics I do have. Do you think this is something worth pursuing? I bought off the guy for $500 bucks.

I also uploaded some pics of what I am really into, Mini buggies!!!

It's missing a few pieces, but well worth $500. A lift and tires that would be one handy vehicle. Good find.

Welcome I also think it's a 3pg look for an oil tank and pump on the flywheel cover I'd bet the oiler hasn't been removed. With that said for the money I think you'll have a great service vehicle for your other projects if you elect to go forward ie. Tow them home supply spare parts and such. I see the f/r handle missing no biggie and choke cable missing again no biggie.I think it's a great find for the $$$ wish I had it. Good luck keep us posted.

Well… I picked up my EZGO today.

It is the 1 cylinder, 2 stroke engine, has the oil tank, but is missing the gas tank, drive belts, choke cable, carb, and intake manifold.

It needs at least, a new battery, and the above mentioned items. I was really hoping it was the 4 stroke 2 cylinder engine. But it is what it is.LOL

Here is where I need your help. Do any of you good members know where I can purchase these items at a reasonable price? I have already looked for a tank on eBay and can’t find one there.

Also what about a service manual? Does anyone know where the best place is to get one for my model?

Looks like I need to start doing my research on the 3PG engine if that is what you are referring to?

Want to thank everyone that has contributed to my post!!!

Any information that you good members can provide on my rebuild would be much appreciated.

Let the fun begin!!!
