Default Blew up motor in m Marathon

YEp, blew it up! 92 Marathon 4 stroke, done. Going to try and rip nto it today sometime to see what happened. Is it cheaper to rebuild them, or is it cheaper to just replace the motor. Is ther a good place to get used motors? How much is it going to cost me to fix this?

Its alot cheaper to rebuild. Those motors new are a few thousand dollars. Let us know what you tore up then you might get an esitmate of what it would cost.

Sounds like a good excuse to get a v-twin to me.

well, I took the motor to a friend of mine that owns his own small engeine repair shop. He is going to take it apart, and see what is all wrong with it, and see if it is fixable. HE has alrready checked to see if parts will be available, and that wont be a problem, so my fingers are crossed.

Im guessing you broke the connecting rod, did you mess with the governor to go as fast as you can for a long distance?
