Default 2012 Ez-go Express L6, Parts and accessories

(This is from a older thread of mine, I changed title and tags to make it easy to locate.)

I just recently purchased a 2012 terrain l6 express. And I have noticed there is very few parts available. I do understand that most of the powertrain is TXT interchangeable but I would like to see if anyone has found windshields, lift kits and other accessories.I was mainly concerned with whether or not there is a simple add on a lift kit, or if the entire suspension will need to be changed. the 4 inches will not cut it. also I will be making this cart street legal has anyone found a street legal windshield.

Thanks james

I have noticed the steering wheel is quite tight compared to my txt, anyone thought about cutting and rewelding the steering column or is there a replacement out there for the shuttle carts to give you a comfortable space . Thanks James

:UPDATE: I believe after alot of searching I think found a windshield that is a proper fit on the new express L6 models. I ordered a windshield for a ST express,Wich or not easy to find. I will update when it comes in. 1-2-13.

Have you found accessories for your L6? I recently purchased an L6 as well and am struggling with finding add ons that claim compatibility with the L6.

Thanks.

good luck! I have posted this about my 09 ST Express(older model, same cart) and got no response. I have read that there is not enough demand for accessories so they don't make anything. I also want to add 2" to the lift. I plan on making blocks for the rear of the front springs and rear shackles. It will be a couple of weeks as I am in the middle of a move but it will get done!

pretty much anything that you want for the interior is going to be the same as txt models. all I have done to my car was at a windshield ,14 inch chrome wheels, and most importantly I modified my front seat and steering wheel to accommodate for more comfortable room.

Yes, please let us know the detail behind your steering wheel/seat modification! I'm currently looking for a storage cover that will cover the entire cart, EZGO claims that don't make one. I'm also looking to find out exactly what parameters can be set in the controller to change performance (speed, accelleration,up hill climb), the dealer where I brought it from had no clue and i can't find a straight answer. I'll buy what I need to buy to make the changes (handhelds, plugs, keys) but finding someone with absolute knowledge has been difficult.

I got looking at options to modify the front seat this morning. I see two options; remove both L shaped seat brakets and bend them an inch or so, or space out the brackets about an inch using something for a spacer on the front side of the bracket and drilling another hole in either the bracket or the pod for the rear mounting bolt. The second option would require a little cutting on the pod. Checking to see if anyone has any other options that i should consider. Any input would be greatly appricated.

I'll send some pictures later on of what I did to my front seat And steering column. I cut out about 2 inches of foam from my seat back replaced and cut off extra vinyl from seat, also I notched out the back of the seat posts and reinforced the rear of the uprights. That gained about 3 to 4 inches right there. And then I loosened all four bolts at the bottom of my steering column then shimef the bottom two bolts underneath the platform with about an inch of stainless steel washers and replace the bottom two bolts with longer bolts this gained about another 4 to 5 inches. I think when I started my distance from my bottom of the steering wheel to the backrest was around 17 to 18 inches now I am roughly 22 to 23inches. this helped out drastically now my cart is completely comfortable just as any other cart would be.

I'm not sure how to post pictures in a thread. But I posted new pictures of my modifications for steering and seat they are in my album under campground limo. If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me it was not hard at all makes these factory Express carts feel like normal two seaters.
