94 GTX804D - the tank stopped running, which part is the culprit
Greetings - till I read some of these threads,I had no idea how much folks are into these machines and it's great. I finally id's my cart - s/n# A31763 which they say is a '94 804d truck. Didnt realize much of it is factory, thought someone fabricated it as it has a plow on the front with a lever attached thru the dashboard to a link that raises and lowers the blade - some fancy welding. This cart has run for 3 years thru, over and under everything on my property. I got it stuckl more times than I care to say - thing is damned heavy to push -- its got stock turf tires on it which is part of my problem but my issue is - the cart just stopped running 2 nites ago. Will not start. I can jump it and engage starter but the gas pedal will not start it. I tried shorting out the microswitch that trips when you press the gas peddle - nothing. When I jump the 'regulator' - she'll turn over but not start, suspect igition is not 'on'?. The mirco switch when you put into reverse does work so power is getting there. The key has been bypassed - it's always HOT so that cant be an issue. Do I get the microswitch activated by gas pedal or the 'regulator' which has two main top post nuts one of which the battery is conncted to? I know there is a voltage regulator and the 'coil' but these are all downstream from my problem as it won't turn over. Battery is fuilly charged and as I said, the reverse horn works. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This engine is veryyyy tiredbut she has alway run and the cart is very usable, I need it back in running condition - thanks again.
