Starter/Gen and reg interchange... EZGo vs Club Car???

OK.. so didnt know where to put this, so I figure I would here becouse I know you guys. :)

So I have my 83 EZGo, and having charging system issues..I went through the S/G and two of the brushes were stuck... so I think thats my problem... but I had a buddy give me a S/G and a reg from his old Club Car that blew up and he scrapped. The S/G is a fresh rebuild, and the reg is also almost new. Now the S/G looks to be a dead on match to my ezgo one... and the reg looks the same also. So... whats the chance of these things being interchangeable??? Anyone look into this before???

I would give it a shot very possible. Connect it the same as the original {your cart} and go with it. You may also look up parts for yours and then parts for the donor and see if they match.

Well the S/G has the same termals, and markings... but its clocked a little diferent. not a deal killer. the reg shows a diferent number... but Ill check out the wiring of it.

Im hoping the freed up brushes will fix mine, and I wont need them... but its nice to have extras just in case
