Default pain getting parts in canuck world

So I tryed to order parts for the old 84 marathon monster. Full rebuild kit, motor mounts, carb, fuel pump, gaskets , etc. The guy said no problem. Will ship them ups. Then he calls back a few days later and tells me that ups wont ship to where I am. I live in Prince Edward Island Canada. I see ups trucks everyday. So needless to say Im not to happy. He said it would be $115 bucks to ship them US mail plus what ever they will charge me for customs. Guess my next step is to call ups myself . Figure out where the ball is being dropped. So much for being all excited about getting the old girl up and running half soon. The price of the parts is awsome compared to anywhere else I looked. $505 and change. Might have to eat the shipping price and get them through them.

a little update on the parts shipping headache. So they arrived today by the big brown truck. . I took it upon myself to call ups myself and get the shipping problem figured out. after a few phone calls and alot of cursing it all came out in the wash. the parts came pretty quick but with a price. i ordered a full rebuild kit , carb, fuel pump, extra gasket set, extra crank seals, throttle cable, motor mounts, throttle cable clamp etc....it came to $505 and change for the parts plus $80 bucks for shipping. so i thaught. when the ups drive showed up it was an extra $80 bucks for shipping due to customs/border fees. man i love living in canada.all and all tho it is still cheaper then buying them up here. so now to jam the parts all back on and get back to the trails . well ...long as old man winter stays away. for a $600 dollar 1984 marathon i sure do love spending money on it.lol. its like an old dog that ya keep spending money on when you should have put it down long ago.......

I live in PEI as well & know your pain. I find getting everything shipped through USPS comes with no unexpected custom fees. It's still usually much cheaper at the end of the day to order through the US, but check with vessey seeds for parts first. Sometimes they don't gouge you

Hey jcurrie. I live down Montague way. I priced vessey seeds for a clutch and it was ( awhile since I priced) going to be around $380 or something for a clutch. I can get the same clutch down south for $165 bucks. So I gave up on local shopping.Haha.
