Default 88 marathon battery question

I have a 88 marathon it has a 330 cca lawn mower battery in it. The question is can I just buya small automotive battery and put in it? Or just buy another lawn and garden? I have a cd player and headlights hooked up but barely use either one. If so what size should I get. Dont really know that much about them and didnt want to damage anything. I would like to keep the battery where it is thanks for your help!!

From what I've learned,, the stock size battery is a group 24. The C.C.A. is up to you. The bigger the better! I think some use Deep cycle's .. To each his own and what the wallet can handle

Just measure the size of the battery container and observe the shape of the terminals. Now hit Walmart and buy the biggest CCA that will physically fit. You can't harm anything and the bigger CCA will aid in a quick start.

Starting batteries and deep cycle batteries have different characteristics. You really don't want or need a deep cycle battery. Just get an auto starting battery.
