Default Heavy Duty Skid Plate??

Hello, I have been looking all over for a aftermarket skid plate of some sort. I have a 2011 EZ-GO ST with the Kawasaki 13hp engine. I have had it twice now where a stick has gone through my plastic engine cover and shredded the engine cooling fan. I have been looking for a skid plate that will cover the underside of the golf cart and protect it. Wondering if anyone has heard of one available?? Thanks!!

Welcome to BGW

I thought those carts came with a factory engine skid plate?

They do, but they are only as wide as the engine block. The plastic engine shroud, housing the fan, is not protected.

I don't think there is anything available off the shelf. I have thought about making one myself. Various materials would work, aluminum plate, diamond plate, etc. Also thought about using an old plastic truck bed liner. I'm thinkin about mocking up the skidplate with cardboard, then transfer the shape to the old bedliner. Seems like it would be tough as nails & if it ever cracked or broke, then your not out much. And may even have more material to do it again.
