My Air Filter Relocation
My golf cart has the air filter located down in the bottom of the engine bay. It is really dirty out here on the golf course and the filter needs cleaned daily. It sits down there and sucks all the dirt kicked up by the front tires.
Tired of dealing with it, just did a top and bottom OH on it last year so I would like it to last. I moved that sucker today and no more suckin' dirt off the ground. Filter will be easier to service also. Don't know if I am going to use the air cleaner lid in pics or maybe buy a chrome one. I am going to paint the 1 1/2" PVC black when I get ready to glue it together. Used a 2" hole saw for the cuts. Have a filter ordered that should slip over the 2" exhaust pipe sticking up. Going to make a base and weld in a stud for the lid. I think it will be better than sticking a filter on the carb. Just my https://picasaweb.google.com/fritz19...lterRelocation ... Going to paint the cart the same Silver that I used on the interior of my '65. Going to order some seat covers from this cat http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&... in those same colors. I talked to him on the phone this P.M. and going to send him pics and dimensions. He said no problemo! That's what I dun today. Tomorrow weld holes shut, lil' bondo action then some sandin'.............ugh! Jeff |

Re: My Air Filter Relocation
I like the Idea of getting it up and away from the dirt spray! I have an 83 with the muffler right in the way of how you did it.. I'm screwed on that idea and location But I may just poke it out of the fender... Thanks for the idea's !!!

Re: My Air Filter Relocation
That is why I posted it because there were no threads that I could find that relocated it out of the dirt. Putting a K&N on the carb was not an option or relocation as far as I was concerned. Hope this helps someone else also. Thanks for posting!
