Default 97 EZ GO TXT Won't start when hot

I have a 1997 EZ GO TXT Gas cart. It runs well unless I take it on a long run, usually with other people with me. If I run it for 20-30 minutes, then stop at, let say a stop sign. If I come to to a complete stop and the motor stops, when I press the pedal, NOTHING happens. It will just sit there and not turn over or do anything. I can lift the seat and let it cool for 2 minutes or so. Then it fires right up. Anyone have any ideas for what could be causing this?

You say nothing happens, does the motor spin ? If no, grab the clutch with some gloves and see if you can spin it. If not, the motor is over heating and seizing. If you can spin it, put it in neutral and try jumping the solenoid. If it starts then I would think solenoid. If no spin, possible starter issues, if yes spin, possible ignition issues. Either way, check the oil level and make sure the cooling fins are clean.

The motor does not spin. It seems to be some sort of electrical issue. You can depress the pedal and the motor does nothing. Wait two minutes, and then it turns over fine and runs.

You just need to see if you can manually spin it. If no, it is seizing due to overheating.
