Default I know it's a Marathon, but....

I just got an older cart, and I was trying to figure out what year it is... I've searched online for days and can't come to a conclusion. I was hoping maybe someone who's really familiar with these EZ-GOs could help me. Please and Thanks!!!

To determine the year on a marathon there is a plate in the "glovebox" on the passenger side of the cart. This plate will contain the serial number and the manufacturer's code. The year will be found within the manufacturer's code. The code will contain one letter and three to four numbers. Two of those numbers will indicate the last two digits of the year of your cart. It should be the last two numbers in the code. I hope this is helpful.

I understand that, however, my cart is at my campground and I'm trying to find parts before I go back down there (it's 1.5 hours away so I can't just go look at that)... Thanks though...

The engine set-up is early-80's thru 87'(engine mounted sideways, and has an external Starter/Gen.)The front cowl is 88'-94'(It has the plastic front-section).Being that it has the vented-area on the Rh-side of the seat-wall,its' pre 85',I think they stopped stamping the louvers in 83'-84'.Hope this helps.

I believe it's an 88 - still had the same engine orientation as the 80-87, has the cowl as pictured, and has the louvers stamped into the right hand side of the firewall under the seat ... The cincher for me is the muffler - by the looks of where the pipe goes into the can as well as the brackets, it's definitely 88 ....

NOW - what parts do You need, because a lot of the stuff for 1988 was specific to that year ONLY (nothing else will fit) ?!? If it were me, I'd feel better doing a full confirmation on the year before You start ordering anything just to be safe (there's also a plate with the model and serial under the starter/generator on the engine heat shield if the one on your cowl is missing)

Your call - definitely worth being sure before You spend a bunch of money and have to start over

88' was the first year of the front-to rear orientation.I have a guy that has one.I work on it a few times a year.I only remember the louvered-vents on the older ones. Mine was an 85' originally,Dad had a 87',neither had the vents.I know 88' is a one-year running-change model. It has a bunch of one-off parts and odd setups.
