Default robins 244 max rpm

So I picked up one of those cheepo tachs from fleabay and was wondering what the max rpm is for the little 2pg. I looked but cant seem to find it. I know I seen it on here somewhere.

5400 sounds real close,,, or until the piston skirt breaks or it throws a rod...

The motor isn't the limiting factor, the starter/generator is. The starter/generator is typically good for 5000rpm. With a 2.362" stroke, the motor should be reliable up to about 8900rpm. One way to overcome the limit on the starter is to swap out the pulley with one that is larger. It will start a little slower, but also turn slower at higher engine rpm. I have run my old Yamaha G1 215cc motor over 8000rpm with no issues.
