Default What kind of lift do I have?

Ok, sorry I don't have any pics of my actual cart on here yet but you can get the idea from this pic I hope. I have a 1996 EZGO TXT Gas, and it has some sort of lift with 22" tires on 10" wheels. There are very small blocks between the rear axle and leaf springs, maybe 1"-1.5" thick at most. On the front, there are no drop spindles, nor a drop axle. However, my leaf springs are mounted to the top of the axle. Is this an aftermarket axle designed to lift the front? I found this pic of a front axle and you can see the mounting plate for the leaf springs at the bottom of either side of the axle.

Mine has these plates on the bottom of the axle and a set just like it on the top. The bottoms aren't used, and my leaf springs are attached at the top. Is this pic of a stock axle and the springs designed to mount underneath, and mine is some sort of custom-made lift? I have no issues with scrubbing anywhere but I have thought about upgrading a lift and going with 24-25" tires. Just want to be sure if I go buy a 4" or 5" drop axle lift, i'm not going to end up with the same amount of lift I already have. Sorry for no pics of my cart yet, I'll post pics as soon as I get home.

That looks like a stock axel to me. I did a 5" drop axel lift on my 2003 ez go txt & 10" wheels with 22" tires.

Yeah, my axle looks just like that one, except there are mounting plates on top also for my leaf springs. My leaf springs are mounted up on top of the axle, and I have 22"x10"s on it now already. I don't want to buy a 4" or 5" drop axle if it isn't going to change anything.

I think someone welded the spring perches on top a stock axle to give it about a 3" lift in front. If you do go with a dropped axle you will also need spindle arm risers.

The rear he run the springs on top the axle instead of below the axle (stock) with the blocks for a little more lift, that is a typical lift for the rear, about a 5" lift.

Yep that's exactly how mine is. I think the drop axle kit comes with the spindle arm risers. But if my back already has that much lift I should only replace the front axle with a drop axle and arm risers to get a little more on front, right?

BTW, I used a Workhorse ST-350 axle on my TXT, It has the perches on top and bottom of the axle, but you would still have to find the risers, (I used the ST-350 spindles but they are pricey)... http://www.thecartshackonline.com/su...96-p-2303.html

Look at my pictures below.

edit: Bet if you call Steve at AllSports he will sell you the risers.

Here's my front axle. I may just get a new drop axle. Notice the driver's side shock mount on mine. I purchased this cart from a very large man. Any chance that caused this? And can it be heated and bent back up like it's supposed to be and then just add the drop spindles or am I better off getting a new drop axle?
