Default can bad front leaf spring cause the rear to lean also?

I have a 2003 TXT freedom. I bought the cart lifted. The rear appears to have heavy duty 4 leaf springs. The front appears to have stock 2 leaf springs. All the shocks also appear to be stock, from me looking at them. I bought the cart last year from a guy who takes a used cart an revamps them (lift kit, etc.) I have a lean on the drivers side. It leans about 3/4 inch in the front, and about 1/2 inch on the rear. Both to the drivers side. I am assuming that the 4 leaf springs on the rear were put on the cart before I bought it to do the lift kit and the rear seat. I am wondering if it is possible that the replacement of just the front leaf springs will be able to fix the lean of the cart. I'm thinking the front leaf springs are 10 years old, and the rear (if they are heavy duty) are much newer with much less wear.

Anyone have experience with this? Thanks in advance.

Also, am I wrong in assuming that the 4 leaf springs on the rear are heavy duty?

The Ezgo lean is a common symptom of weak worn out or broken springs.

The fronts are probably weak. You can swap them Left to Right, and see if the lean changes. That will give you a better feel for where the problem is.It may lean a little in the rear even with the new fronts,if its' been leaning a long time,it will stress the rears sometimes. If this is the case, have the rears re-arched to match at a spring-shop,and you could also get the fronts re-arched as well.I work in a spring-shop.We built my fronts, and have played with the arch quite a bit.Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I'm sure the easy thing to do is just replace all springs and all shocks. I was just hoping to get out of it cheap. Thanks again.

The shocks won't cause the lean, unless one is damaged and not moving freely.Unbolt them and cycle them.If they move fully and smoothly, with resistance from the internal-hydraulics,they are fine.Swapping the fronts could fix the problem, give it a shot.

any problem taking both front leaf springs off at the same time? In order to swap them from left to right, right to left. I ask, because I have heard when changing rear leaf springs to only do them one at a time.

No problem with doing that on the fronts and rear. The rears have alignment pins if you haven't lifted the car. If you have and you removed the pins then you can still easily align the rear axle.

The only thing that happens when you do both rears together,is that the rear-axle flops around. For the front, set the cart on stands so the tires are just off the ground(just off),unbolt the springs, let the axle set on the ground, swap the springs and bolt it back up.
